Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the Imam of the pious, the master of the messengers, sent as a mercy to the worlds, our master Muhammad and upon all his family and companions, and make us with them, and gather us in their company by your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Dear listeners, listeners of the Media Office radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings, and then: In this episode, we continue our reflections on the book: "Elements of the Islamic Psyche." In order to build the Islamic personality, with attention to the Islamic mentality and the Islamic psyche, we say, and with God is success: God Almighty said in the firm book, and He is the most truthful of speakers: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful {By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience}.

Surat Al-Asr is Meccan, and it has come in the utmost brevity and clarity, to clarify the reason for man's happiness or misery, and his success in this life or his loss and destruction. God Almighty swore by Al-Asr, which is the time in which man's life ends, and what it contains of various kinds of wonders, and lessons indicating God's power and wisdom, that mankind is in loss and deficiency, except for those who possess the four characteristics, which are (faith) and (good deeds) and (advising one another to truth) and (advising one another to patience), which are the foundations of virtue, and the basis of religion, and that is why Imam Al-Shafi’i, may God have mercy on him, said: If God had not revealed anything but this Surah, it would have been sufficient for people.

God Almighty swore by time and eternity because of the various kinds of oddities and wonders it contains, and the lessons and admonitions, that man is in loss, because he prefers the immediate over the future, and is overcome by desires and lusts. Ibn Abbas said: Al-Asr is eternity. God Almighty swore by it because it contains various kinds of wonders. Qatada said: Al-Asr is the last hours of the day. He swore by it as He swore by Ad-Duha because of the evidence of overwhelming power and the far-reaching admonition in them... God Almighty only swore by time, because it is the head of man's life. Every moment that passes is from your life and a decrease from your term, as the poet said:

We rejoice in the days we cut off              And every day that passes is a deduction from life

Al-Qurtubi said: God Almighty swore by Al-Asr - which is eternity - because of the reminder of the changing of conditions and their changing, and what it contains of the indication of the Creator, and it was said: It is an oath by the Asr prayer because it is the best of prayers. And He, glory be to Him, excluded from those who are in loss those who believed and did righteous deeds, that is, those who combined faith and good deeds, for these are the winners, because they sold the desires of the life of this world, and bought with them the bliss of Paradise, and replaced the lasting good deeds with the immediate desires.

And because they enjoined one another to truth, and enjoined one another to patience, that is, they enjoined one another to truth, which is all good, from faith, and belief, and worship of the Most Merciful. And they urged one another to be patient in times of hardship and calamities, and to perform acts of obedience, and to abandon forbidden things... God Almighty has ruled that all people are losers except those who have come with these four things: faith, good deeds, enjoining one another to truth, and enjoining one another to patience. Man's salvation can only be achieved if man perfects himself with faith and good deeds, and perfects others with advice and guidance, so he has combined the right of God and the right of people, and this is the secret of singling out these four matters for mention in this short Surah. God Almighty has made it obligatory for a Muslim to accept his brother's excuse, preserve his secret, and advise him: As for accepting his excuse, it is because of what Ibn Majah narrated with two good chains of transmission, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever apologizes to his brother with an excuse and he does not accept it, he will be like the sin of the owner of a customs." The customs: the tax taken by the Max, who is the tax collector who takes ten percent of the money as taxes on imported goods.

As for keeping his secret, it is because of what Abu Dawood and Al-Tirmidhi narrated with a good chain of transmission from Jabir that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "If a man tells a man a hadith, then he turns around, then it is a trust," and the trust must be kept, and losing it is betrayal, and the hadith indicates that the Muslim must keep his brother's secret even if he does not explicitly ask for it, but rather by circumstantial evidence, such as when he tells his brother a hadith and he looks around for fear that others will hear the hadith. It is clear that it is all the more so if he explicitly asks him to keep his secret. This is if the hadith does not contain a general harm to the rights of God. The one sitting has the right to advise him and forbid him, and he has the right to testify before he is asked to testify, as stated in the hadith that Muslim narrated in his Sahih that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Shall I not tell you of the best of witnesses, the one who testifies before he is asked to testify." As for his advice, it is according to the hadith of Jarir bin Abdullah, which was agreed upon, who said: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to establish prayer, pay zakat, and advise every Muslim," and the hadith of Tamim bin Aws al-Dari in Muslim that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Religion is advice." We said to whom? He said to God, His Book, His Messenger, and the leaders of the Muslims and their common people." Al-Khattabi said: "The meaning of the hadith is the pillar of religion and its foundation is advice, as in his saying, may God bless him and grant him peace: "Hajj is Arafah." That is, its pillar and most of it is Arafah." As the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, explained the right of the Muslim over the Muslim, and the great reward in it, Muslim narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "The right of the Muslim over the Muslim is six." It was said: What are they, O Messenger of God? He said: "If you meet him, greet him, and if he invites you, answer him, and if he seeks your advice, advise him, and if he sneezes and praises God, then say to him, 'May God have mercy on you,' and if he is sick, visit him, and if he dies, follow him." Will we not adhere to performing these rights so that our Creator will be pleased with us?

Know, O Muslims!

Episode 15

Among the assisting bodies of the Khilafah state are the ministers whom the Caliph appoints to assist him in bearing the burdens of the Khilafah and fulfilling its responsibilities. The multitude of the Khilafah's burdens, especially as the Khilafah state grows and expands, makes it difficult for the Caliph to bear them alone, so he needs someone to help him bear them to fulfill its responsibilities. However, it is not correct to call them ministers without restriction, so that the meaning of the minister in Islam, which is in the sense of an assistant, is not confused with the meaning of the minister in the current man-made systems based on democratic, capitalist, secular, or other systems that we witness in the present era.

Episode Fourteen

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the Imam of the pious, the master of the messengers, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, our master Muhammad and all his family and companions, and make us with them, and gather us in their company by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

My dear listeners, listeners of the Media Office Radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. In this episode, we continue our reflections on the book: "Elements of the Islamic Psyche." In order to build the Islamic personality, with attention to the Islamic mentality and the Islamic psyche, we say, and with God is success:

We said in the last episode: Love in God means that you love the servant for God, that is, because of his faith and obedience. In this episode, we say: The best of two loving companions is the one who loves his companion the most, as Ibn Abd al-Barr narrated in al-Tamhid, al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak, and Ibn Hibban in his Sahih from Anas who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No two men love each other for the sake of God, but the best of them is the one who loves his companion the most."

It is also recommended for a Muslim to pray for his brother behind his back, as Muslim narrated from Umm al-Darda', who said: My master told me that he heard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever prays for his brother behind his back, the angel appointed to him says: Amen, and you shall have the like," meaning the like of what you prayed for him. Her master is Abu al-Darda', and she means her husband out of respect for him.

Muslim narrated from Safwan - who is Ibn Abdullah bin Safwan - and al-Darda' was under him. He said: I came to Sham and came to Abu al-Darda' in his house, but I did not find him, and I found Umm al-Darda', so she said, "Do you want to perform Hajj this year?" I said, "Yes." She said, "Pray to God for us with good, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say, "The prayer of a Muslim for his brother behind his back is answered. At his head is an angel appointed, every time he prays for his brother with good, the angel appointed to him says: Amen, and you shall have the like." He said: I went out to the market, and I met Abu al-Darda', and he said the same thing to me.

It is also recommended to ask his brother to pray for him, as Abu Dawood and al-Tirmidhi narrated with a sound chain of narrators, from Omar bin al-Khattab who said: I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for permission to perform Umrah, and he gave me permission and said: "Do not forget us, my brother, in your supplication." He said a word that I would not be pleased to have the world for it. And in another version he said: "Include us, my brother, in your supplication."

It is also Sunnah to visit him, sit with him, keep in touch with him, and be generous to him for the sake of God after loving him. Muslim narrated from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A man visited a brother of his in another village, so God set an angel on his way. When he came to him, he said: Where do you want to go? He said: I want to go to a brother of mine in this village. He said: Do you owe him any favor that you are maintaining? He said: No, except that I love him for the sake of God Almighty. He said: I am the messenger of God to you, that God has loved you as you have loved him for His sake."

Ahmad narrated with a good chain of narrators, and al-Hakim, and he authenticated it from Ubadah bin al-Samit from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who raises it to the Lord Almighty, who said: "My love is due to those who love each other for My sake, and My love is due to those who visit each other for My sake, and My love is due to those who are generous to each other for My sake, and My love is due to those who keep in touch with each other for My sake."

Malik narrated in al-Muwatta with a sound chain of narrators from Muadh who said: I heard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "God Almighty said: My love is due to those who love each other for My sake, those who sit together for My sake, those who visit each other for My sake, and those who are generous to each other for My sake."

Al-Bukhari narrated from Aisha who said: "I did not understand my parents except that they were practicing the religion, and not a day passed us except that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us at both ends of the day, morning and evening..."

The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, has explained the great reward of the believer who loves for his brother what he loves for himself, and is keen to bring good to him in his life and in the Hereafter as much as he can, as in the hadith of Anas agreed upon, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."

And in the hadith of Abdullah bin Amr, in Ibn Khuzaimah in his Sahih, and Ibn Hibban in his Sahih, and al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak, and he said it is Sahih according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs, he said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best of companions in the sight of God is the best of them to his companion, and the best of neighbors in the sight of God is the best of them to his neighbor."

From this point of view, one should be helpful to his brother as much as possible, and relieve his distress as much as he can. In the hadith of Ibn Omar agreed upon, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim, he does not wrong him or hand him over. Whoever is in need of his brother, God will be in his need. Whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, God will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever conceals a Muslim, God will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection." And with a good chain of narrators whose narrators are trustworthy, al-Tabarani narrated from the hadith of Zaid bin Thabit from the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "God will always be in the need of the servant as long as he is in the need of his brother."

It is recommended for a Muslim to meet his brother with what he likes to please him with that, as al-Tabarani narrated in al-Saghir with a good chain of narrators from the hadith of Anas who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever meets his Muslim brother with what he likes to please him with that, God Almighty will please him on the Day of Resurrection." It is also recommended for him to meet his brother with a cheerful face, as Muslim narrated from Abu Dharr who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not despise any good deed, even if it is to meet your brother with a cheerful face." And as Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated and said: It is good and sound, from Jabir bin Abdullah who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Every good deed is charity, and one of the good deeds is to meet your brother with a cheerful face, and to pour from your bucket into your brother's vessel."

O Muslims:

After you have heard what you have heard, and known what you have known, and seen what you have seen, of the love of the Companions for God Almighty and for the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and the love of the Companions for each other for the sake of God Almighty, why do we not be like them in our love for God and His Messenger and for the believers; so that God will be with us as He was with them, and honor us with His victory as He honored them, and so that we will be with them on the Day of Resurrection in the company of the master of the messengers, with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and what good companions they are?!

My dear listeners: Listeners of the Media Office Radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

We will suffice with this much in this episode, provided that we complete our reflections in the upcoming episodes, God willing. Until then and until we meet you, we leave you in God's care, protection, and security. We thank you for your kind listening, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
