Ilke News Agency: Civil organizations in Istanbul call on the government to act for Gaza: We want actions, not words
Thousands of demonstrators participated in a massive march from Al-Fatih Mosque to Bayezid Square under the slogan "Two years have passed... We want actions, not words," where civil society organizations called on the Turkish government to take practical steps to support Gaza.
The city of Istanbul witnessed a large public march organized by the "Radical Change" movement with the support of many civil society organizations under the title "Two years have passed... We want actions, not words."
The event began after noon prayers at Al-Fatih Mosque, where participants raised banners of Tawhid and chanted slogans in support of Gaza and against the Zionist occupation and its allies, and marched in a huge public procession to Bayezid Square.
During the event, Mahmoud Kar, general coordinator of "Radical Change Media," delivered a statement on behalf of the participating organizations, reminding of the passage of two years since "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, stressing that what is happening in Gaza of genocide and daily crimes requires governments to take actions, not statements of condemnation.
He explained that the occupation is targeting children, women, hospitals, schools and mosques without discrimination, while leaders are content with statements and declarations, which encouraged the occupation to commit more crimes.
Kar added: "The audacity of the Zionists in this way is only a direct result of the absence of deterrent steps from those in power, who have contented themselves with words and statements instead of taking practical decisions to stop the aggression."
He stressed that international institutions such as the United Nations and the International Court of Justice are worthless in the face of the occupation, because they work to serve the interests of the colonial West.
He strongly criticized the governments' recourse to them despite their prior knowledge of their futility, and even asked for help from former US President Trump, whom he described as the first enemy of Gaza and Muslims.
Kar put forward a series of demands to the Turkish government, including:
1. Closing the American bases in Incirlik and Kurecik that support the occupation.
2. Trying dual-nationality Turks who join the occupation army and stripping them of their citizenship.
3. Stopping all forms of trade with the occupation, and severing relations with companies and countries that deal with it.
4. Expelling Zionist diplomatic missions and closing their embassy.
5. Declaring the occupation a "terrorist state" and an "official enemy."
6. Opening urgent humanitarian corridors to Gaza to provide food, water and medicine.
7. Protecting the "Freedom Flotilla" heading to Gaza, even if it requires military intervention.
8. Reversing any support for the American "two-state solution" plan, which he described as treason.
A number of figures also delivered supportive speeches, as journalist Ahmed Warol stressed that the resistance of Palestine is not a battle of one faction, but rather the cause of the entire Islamic nation, calling for the unity of Muslims to confront the occupation. Anas Yalghun, representative of Al-Tawhid magazine, said: "In Gaza, no red lines remain, and what is happening has exceeded the capacity of humans to bear, and all of humanity is under the rubble."
For his part, Ahmed Turgut Olujak, representative of the "Quran and Da'wah Association," stressed that some Western countries are trying to exploit the issue of recognizing the State of Palestine to pass malicious plans aimed at ending the resistance and handing over power to Mahmoud Abbas, considering this unacceptable.
The event concluded with prayers for the people of Gaza and reaffirmation of the determination to continue popular pressure until practical steps are taken to stop the aggression.
