The International Monetary Fund Extends Its Hand to Strangle the Economy in Yemen to Seize Our Economic Capabilities
On 2025/10/15, the Governor of the Central Bank of Aden, Ahmed Al-Maabqi, met in Washington, D.C., with the head of the International Monetary Fund mission to Yemen, Esther Perez Ruiz, and the Fund's representative, Muhammad Muait, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Hani Wahab, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdul Qader Amin. This was followed by a meeting between the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Governor of Yemen to the World Bank Group, Waed Badhib, and Ricardo Puliti, the Vice President of the International Finance Corporation for the Middle East. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Planning, Nizar Basohaib, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Hani Wahab, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdul Qader Amin, Stefan Guimbert, the Regional Director of the World Bank in the Middle East, and Dina Abu Ghaida, the World Bank Director in Yemen.
