Episode 4

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the Imam of the pious, the master of the messengers, sent as a mercy to the worlds, our master Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions. Make us with them and gather us in their group with your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

O Muslims:

Dear listeners, listeners of the media office radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. After that: In this episode, we continue our reflections on the book "From the Components of the Islamic Mentality." In order to give living examples of the Islamic personality, while focusing on the Islamic mentality, we say, with God's help:

In these episodes, we present to Muslims in general, and to the carriers of the call in particular, the components of the Islamic mentality, so that we may all be as God Almighty wants us to be, and as our Lord loves and is pleased with, so that we may deserve His victory and support for us, so that He may be pleased with us and change our condition as He promised us, so that He may make us successors on earth as He made those before us successors, and empower us with our religion, the religion of Islam that He has approved for us, and replace our fear with security, worshipping Him and not associating anything with Him.

O Muslims:

We said in the previous episode: "If a person's mind and psyche are disciplined by Islam, he will be an Islamic figure who makes his way to good in the midst of the crowd, not fearing the blame of a critic in God." We give a living example of this from the biography of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him:

When God Almighty revealed His saying addressing His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: {O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And God will protect you from the people. Indeed, God does not guide the disbelieving people.} (Al-Ma'idah 67).

The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, proceeded to convey what was revealed to him from his Lord, without fearing the blame of a critic in God, not caring or concerned about the harm that befell him in the path of God, no matter how high the degree of harm reached, even if it included his death and destruction, peace and blessings be upon him.

Listen to him as he addresses his uncle Abu Talib when a delegation from the leaders of Quraish came to him: They said to him: O Abu Talib, you have age, honor, and status among us, and we have asked you to stop your nephew, but you have not stopped him from us, and by God, we cannot bear this from insulting our fathers, ridiculing our dreams, and criticizing our gods, until you stop him from us, or we fight him and you in that until one of the two parties perishes.

Ibn Ishaq said: When Quraish said this statement to Abu Talib, he sent to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and said to him: O son of my brother, your people have come to me and said such and such to me, for what they had said to him, so spare me and yourself, and do not burden me with a matter that I cannot bear. The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, thought that his uncle had begun to forsake him and surrender him, and that he had become weak to support him and stand with him. The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O uncle, by God, if they put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand on condition that I abandon this matter until God makes it prevail or I perish in it, I would not abandon it."

O Muslims:

This is how the believer's psyche should be. To be ready to sacrifice himself for Islam. This stance of sacrificing oneself for the sake of supporting Islam is not the only stance, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, took it and it was enough, for the stances of sacrifice in the history of Islam are more than can be counted; because the Companions, led by the first Caliph Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, followed the example of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, in this stance, and we have seen his firm, decisive and courageous stance, which he took in the war against the apostates, and when Omar Ibn Al-Khattab objected to him, he said his famous and widespread phrase: "Is the religion diminished while I am alive?" Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, showed his readiness to die in the path of establishing and re-implementing one of the rulings of Islam, which is Zakat, and this is not a figment of the imagination, but rather a reality that filled the history books!

And the mothers who gave birth to these sacrificers are still capable of giving birth to the likes of these great leaders, who I do not exaggerate if I say that they are like the Companions y! We give a living example of this from our present era in which we live, and I was an eyewitness, narrating it faithfully as I lived it as a tangible reality:

When we were in one of the prisons of the oppressors in the state of Jordan, our number in the year one thousand nine hundred and eighty-four AD reached forty-two young men from the youth of Hizb ut-Tahrir, and I saw and heard a great deal about their sacrifices and courageous stances, and the youth would come to us to visit us in prison to relieve us.

Our current emir, Ata bin Khalil Abu Al-Rashtah, may God protect him and take care of him, and make victory on his hands, and make us among those who pledge allegiance to him to hear and obey in our activity and dislike, so that he may implement God's law in us, and judge us according to the book of God and the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, in the second righteous caliphate on the method of prophethood. Amen.

One day, a number of young men came to visit us in the morning of that day, and they brought with them a list of the names of the thirteen young men who were executed by the tyrant of Libya, and it was only a moment before the list reached the hands of our Emir Abu Yassin, may God protect him and take care of him, and make the highest paradise our abode and his abode. Amen.

As soon as the list reached Abu Yassin's hands and he finished reading it, his eyes welled up with tears, and his eyes continued to shed tears until the end of the day, and when the young men saw Abu Yassin's great influence, and the continuation of his eyes shedding tears, they began to come to him in groups and individually, consoling him and alleviating his pain, saying to him: "O Abu Yassin, be patient and seek reward, these young men who were executed, we consider them martyrs, and they are alive with their Lord, being provided for, so we should rejoice instead of crying!

However, Abu Yassin did not respond to them, and did not stop crying throughout that day, and when the soldiers closed the door of the dormitory in the prison, the young men surrounded Abu Yassin consoling him, and he had been silent throughout his day since he received the list that contained the names of the young men who were executed, and suddenly Abu Yassin opened his mouth to say his word that shook the entity of all those present, that word that indicates the high Islamic mentality that Abu Yassin's unique personality enjoys! So what did he say?

O Muslims:

Open your hearts and minds and listen carefully, to hear these words that are written in letters of light, to illuminate the path for those who follow the path of calling to God! Listen, O noble nation, and let the whole world hear, for the pioneer does not lie to his people! They said to him: Why haven't you stopped crying, O Abu Yassin, throughout this day? He said, may God protect him: Do you think that I am crying sadly for them? They said to him: Then what are you sobbing for? He said: I did not cry and will not cry sadly for them, but I cried and cry because I was deprived of martyrdom with them!!

And I learned after I left prison, from one of Abu Yassin's companions from the carriers of the call who were with him, that Abu Yassin, may God protect him and take care of him, was detained in Libya with the young men who were martyred and knew them one by one!

God bless you, O Abu Yassin, how strong is your piety! And how high is your psyche, and how much is your sincerity! This is a testimony of truth that I give in its proper form, and God is a witness to what I say, a testimony that I present to the Islamic nation, as it explores its path towards glory, and searches for a leader who leads it to safety, and governs it with the law of its Merciful Lord! Implementing in it the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Adnan, peace and blessings be upon him, so that it may be guided to the right course. So hasten, brothers, to God's pleasure, to His forgiveness, to His paradise, to His victory, to success in both worlds. {And in that let the competitors compete}.

Dear listeners: Listeners of the media office radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

We will suffice with this amount in this episode, provided that we complete our reflections in the upcoming episodes, God Almighty willing, so until that time and until we meet you, we leave you in God's care, protection, and security. We thank you for your kind listening, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

Episode Fifteen

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the Imam of the pious, the Master of the Messengers, sent as a mercy to the worlds, our master Muhammad and all his family and companions. Make us with them, and gather us in their company, by your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Dear listeners, listeners of the Media Office Radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. In this episode, we continue our reflections on the book: "Elements of the Islamic Psyche." In order to build the Islamic personality, with attention to the Islamic mentality and the Islamic psyche, we say, with God's help:

O Muslims:

We said in the last episode: It is also Sunnah for a Muslim to supplicate for his brother behind his back, just as it is Sunnah for him to ask his brother to supplicate for him. It is Sunnah for him to visit him, sit with him, keep in touch with him, and share with him for the sake of God after loving him. It is recommended for a Muslim to meet his brother with what he likes to please him with that. We add in this episode and say: It is recommended for a Muslim to give gifts to his brother, according to the hadith of Abu Hurairah, which was reported by Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Abu Ya'la in his Musnad, Al-Nasa'i in Al-Kuna, and Ibn Abd Al-Barr in Al-Tamhid. Al-Iraqi said: The chain of narrators is good, and Ibn Hajar said in Al-Talkhis Al-Habir: Its chain of narrators is good, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Exchange gifts, you will love one another."

It is also recommended for him to accept his gift and reward him for it, according to the hadith of Aisha in Bukhari, who said: "The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to accept gifts and reward for them."

And the hadith of Ibn Umar in Ahmad, Abu Dawood, and Al-Nasa'i, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever seeks refuge in God, grant him refuge, and whoever asks you in the name of God, give him, and whoever seeks protection in God, protect him, and whoever does you a favor, reward him, and if you do not find anything, then supplicate for him until you know that you have rewarded him."

This is between brothers, and it has nothing to do with the gifts of the subjects to the rulers, as they are like bribery, which is forbidden. And one of the rewards is to say: May God reward you with good.

Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Usama bin Zaid, may God be pleased with them both, and said it is good and authentic, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever has a favor done to him and says to the one who did it: "May God reward you with good," then he has exaggerated in the praise." And praise is gratitude, i.e., reward, especially from someone who finds nothing else, as Ibn Hibban narrated in his Sahih from Jabir bin Abdullah, who said: I heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: "Whoever is given a favor and does not find anything better than praise for it, then he has thanked him, and whoever conceals it has disbelieved, and whoever adorns himself with falsehood is like one who wears two garments of falsehood." And with a good chain of narrators, Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever is given a gift and finds something to repay it with, let him repay it, and if he does not find anything, let him praise it, for whoever praises it has thanked him, and whoever conceals it has disbelieved, and whoever adorns himself with what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood." And disbelieving in the gift means concealing and covering it up.

With an authentic chain of narrators, Abu Dawood and Al-Nasa'i narrated from Anas, who said: "The Muhajirun said, "O Messenger of God, the Ansar have taken all the reward, we have not seen a people who are better at giving a lot, nor better at consoling in a little than them, and they have spared us the burden," he said: "Do you not praise them for it and supplicate for them?" They said: "Yes," he said: "That is for that."

A Muslim should be grateful for the little as he is grateful for the much, and be grateful to the people who do him good, as Abdullah bin Ahmad narrated in his additions with a good chain of narrators from Al-Nu'man bin Bashir, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever is not grateful for the little, is not grateful for the much, and whoever is not grateful to the people, is not grateful to God, and talking about God's blessings is gratitude, and leaving it is disbelief, and the group is mercy, and division is torment."

It is Sunnah to intercede for one's brother for a benefit of righteousness or to facilitate a difficulty, as Al-Bukhari narrated from Abu Musa, who said: "The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting when a man came asking, or seeking a need, he turned his face to us and said, "Intercede, so that you may be rewarded, and God will decree on the tongue of His Prophet what He wills."

And as Muslim narrated from Ibn Umar from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: "Whoever is a connection for his Muslim brother to a person of authority for a benefit of righteousness or to facilitate a difficulty, will be helped to cross the Path on the day when feet slip."

It is also recommended for a Muslim to defend the honor of his brother behind his back, as Al-Tirmidhi narrated and said this is a good hadith from Abu Al-Darda' from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: "Whoever defends the honor of his brother, God will ward off the fire from his face on the Day of Resurrection." This hadith of Abu Al-Darda' was narrated by Ahmad, and he said its chain of narrators is good, and Al-Haythami said the same.

And what Ishaq bin Rahwayh narrated from Asma bint Yazid, who said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: "Whoever defends the honor of his brother behind his back, it is a right upon God to free him from the Fire."

Al-Quda'i narrated in Musnad al-Shihab from Anas, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever supports his brother behind his back, God will support him in this world and the hereafter." Al-Quda'i also narrated it from Imran bin Hussein with the addition: "And he is able to support him." And as Abu Dawood and Al-Bukhari narrated in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, and Al-Zain Al-Iraqi said: Its chain of narrators is good from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "The believer is the mirror of the believer, and the believer is the brother of the believer, from wherever he meets him, he protects him from his loss and surrounds him from behind."

O Muslims:

You have learned from the noble Prophetic hadiths mentioned in this episode and the previous episode that it is Sunnah for whoever loves a brother for the sake of God to inform him and let him know that he loves him. It is also Sunnah for a Muslim to supplicate for his brother behind his back. It is also Sunnah for him to ask his brother to supplicate for him. It is Sunnah for him to visit him, sit with him, keep in touch with him, and share with him for the sake of God after loving him. It is recommended for a Muslim to meet his brother with what he likes to please him with that. It is recommended for a Muslim to give gifts to his brother. It is also recommended for him to accept his gift and reward him for it.

A Muslim should be grateful to the people who do him good. It is Sunnah to intercede for one's brother for a benefit of righteousness or to facilitate a difficulty. It is also recommended for him to defend the honor of his brother behind his back. So why don't we adhere to these Sharia rulings and all the rulings of Islam, so that we may be as our Lord loves and is pleased with, so that He may change what is within us, improve our conditions, and we may win the best of this world and the hereafter?!

Dear listeners: Listeners of the Media Office Radio of Hizb ut-Tahrir:

We will suffice with this amount in this episode, with the understanding that we will complete our reflections in the coming episodes, God willing. Until that time and until we meet you, we leave you in God's care, protection, and security. We thank you for your kind listening, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

Know, O Muslims!

Episode 15

Among the assisting bodies of the Khilafah state are the ministers whom the Caliph appoints to assist him in bearing the burdens of the Khilafah and fulfilling its responsibilities. The multitude of the Khilafah's burdens, especially as the Khilafah state grows and expands, makes it difficult for the Caliph to bear them alone, so he needs someone to help him bear them to fulfill its responsibilities. However, it is not correct to call them ministers without restriction, so that the meaning of the minister in Islam, which is in the sense of an assistant, is not confused with the meaning of the minister in the current man-made systems based on democratic, capitalist, secular, or other systems that we witness in the present era.
