Once again, post-election violence swept through Tanzania for several days starting on October 29, 2025, causing loss of life and extensive damage to both private property and public infrastructure. Since the first multi-party presidential elections were held in Tanzania in 1995, the recurrence of violence following them has been successive and continuous every five years. However, this year's violence is enormous and widespread, even surpassing the painful violence that occurred in 2000, in which more than 40 opposition supporters (United Front) were killed.
